Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best recognized for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she won an Emmy Award. The most notable role she has played is her part in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole child of an United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised by her four siblings. When she was a kid she longed to be a court reporter. However, after graduating from high school and relocating in New York in the 1980s and began to model, she was hooked. Her first appearance acting was as a young girl in the show All My Children. Delaney is an acclaimed actress, appearing involved in numerous television dramas, and TV films. Like her career however, her private life has not been easy or prosperous. The talented actress has had to deal with alcoholism throughout her life and had two failed marriages. In 2005, the actress lost the custody of her son.
